Each band then performs two or three live tracks, often featuring collaborations between artists, interspersed with short, quirky interviews with Jools. Highlights in Series 36 include former The Jam and Style Council frontman Paul Weller performing tracks from his 10th solo album, Wake Up The Nation; Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s multi-million-selling creation Gorillaz, playing tunes from their album Plastic Beach, accompanied by numerous guests and collaborators; guitar legend Jeff Beck with a number from Emotion and Commotion, his highest-charting solo album in a career spanning more than four decades; and Tom Jones, who will shortly be celebrating his 70th birthday. Representing the United States, Alicia Keys performs songs from her chart-topping album The Element of Freedom; and making their comeback after a sevenyear hiatus, Courtney Love and Hole perform tracks from their new album Nobody’s Daughter.
